First Snowstorm

Yesterday was our first snowstorm in our new home.  It was a doozy.

Below, the mudroom window that threatens to fall out any minute now. Up side: the mudroom is MUCH WARMER when it is insulated by 4 ft snowdrifts. Here it is at 12 noon:

Husband trudged around the house to do some shovelling on both the front and the back:

30 minutes later: footprints gone:

The worst and best of it: Cat B decided to go out in the morning and stay out all day despite the ravages.  We ended up wandering the neighbourhood half the night calling for him, but of course at midnight he followed the beacon of the rattling of the box of treats and found his way home.
